My Cameronian Day.

This will be the post for the entire trip in cameron highland.

To document everything so i can recall happy moments when i read this back.

Early morning, August 6th 2006, we woke up at 7 something to get ready to go to Pudu Raya Bus station. According to them, the bus leaves at 9am.

Didn't get to buy bus tickets the day before coz i was too eager to go Wan Utama shopping. :-D

Well, the experience with the ticket seller wasn't that pleasant so i'm not gonna write that down. Wanna keep this entry happy happy. ^_^

On our way to CAMERON HIGHLAND~!! Here I come CAMERON~!!
Bus ticket RM25.

All angmos get to sitting in front. All locals sit behind. You see the empty seats infront of me. Those are vacant. I overheard the bus conductor walkie talkie to the ticket counter informing them of the empty seats. I bought my tickets early so why am i seated at the back row of the bus?? In fact, we were given the furthest seats down the aisle, the last 2 rows. Kanasai.......Damn the ticket seller. One of the pissing moments of the trip.

Some of the landscape along the way...

I noticed the main electrical cable from TNB to the kampung houses along the road are extremely low. They don't have a decent metal post/frame to support the cable. Most of the time, it just hung loosely on some wooden stick which looked like they were put up by the villagers themselves. If you reach up, you can actually pull down the cable yourself. Of course, you'll get electrocuted then. ;-)

low enough for ya? Cables seemed tangled and those plants LOVE cables very much.

Going up hill and up and up.....

Then finally, after 4 agonising hours in the bus, i finally reached CAMERON HIGHLAND~!! 1pm

This is the place we stayed for the nite. Twin Pines. RM30 for a room of 2. RM55, a room for 3. All with Bathrooms. :-)

This is a budget trip to Cameron, not some luxurious stay okay?

Usually when i plan a trip, i put emphasis on food, entertainment and shopping. Accommodation wise, as long as there's a clean room and bed, i'm fine with it.

I called before we went to this place and the lady was sitting there reading newspaper when we arrived.

After checking in, we went for our first Cameronian Lunch. ^_^

It was kinda late by the time we finished our lunch. Around 3pm. :-(

All the tours start at 1pm to 1.30pm. So we went to the Tourist Centre in town for ideas of how to go around sight-seeing.

There is a SUPER DUPER sweet and kind lady behind the counter, i tell you.

All the people working behind a service counter should all learn from her. Not only she's informative. She's really polite and efficient.

After a phone call, Woala~!!! She arranged a private tour for us~!!! For only RM25 each pax!!! and we can go anywhere we want!!! :-D

We were so lucky to have her there. She even solved our problem for the return tickets to KL.

Apparently, all the tickets to kl the next morning was sold out~!!! How unlucky of us. Stupid of me for not buying it together with the KL-Cameron tickets.

While waiting for the tour guide to arrive, i took a few shots.

I have dark under eyes circles in all my photos so i'm not gonna post a lot of my prestigious self. ^_^

Finally, the our tour guide came, driving a van. :-D

First Stop. Strawberry Farm.

Kinda disappointed when i found out they culture strawberry like this.

Took only 2 shots. Nothing interesting there.

Just next to the strawberry park, in a shop, we bought strawberry ice-cream for only RM1. It's simply DELICIOUS~!!!

Next Stop. Boh Tea Plantation.

The tea plantation is having some kind of 'maintenance season' for their 'tea tree' when we were there. According to our tour guide, the name's Resh??, the plantation management 'trim' their trees once in every 3 yrs to keep their 'tea tree' in good short manner. Else wise, it'll be as tall as 2m or maybe more??

Yellowing bushes due to cut branches and leaves.

Luckily they are doing it only to certain parts of the plantation.

So i could still see the beautiful breath taking view of cameron highland. (My whole purpose of the trip)

Well, we missed the official Boh Tea Factory Tour. It was closed when we got there. 4.30pm. :-(

But... we had OUR OWN PRIVATE TOUR OF THE FACTORY. Muahaha~~!!!!

Thanks to Resh. He certainly can pull a few strings. ;-)

So the plucked tea leaves is put onto the the conveyor belt which moves up, feeding the leaves into the machine from the top.

The processed tea leaves will come out from the bottom of the machine, onto another conveyor belt which looks like a drain, to me.

This conveyor belt connects to another room by a small opening on the wall....

In the other room, let's see......

There.....see the small opening on the wall?

So it goes onto yet another converyor belt...

And up it goes again...

This time i dunno what this 'thing' (machine?/tank?) is for...but it's the final process coz the indian lady is packing up the tea leaves into big bags from the bottom.

Lots and lots of tea....

I figured that there must be a few more process after this one. Well, they don't sell tea BAGs like that, do they?

And this was where we were at......

My face look horrifying.. doesn't matter lar.

I look kinda like a model advertising for the tea plantation with my posture.

Maybe they should pay me for standing there, posing liddat for them advertisement, don't cha think? lol...
