My Birthday..

Today's my birthday.

A celebration of my presence in this world.

I'm so happy today.

Time passes so fast and it's been a year already.

No birthday cake this year coz I don't like to eat cakes.

So there won't be any birthday cake.

Every year, i tell everyone don't buy cake for me.

But sometimes, without the cake cutting thingy, it feels like something is amiss. As if a birthday isn't a birthday without the cake.

Honestly, it's not that i totally dislike cakes. It's just that i dislike those icing on the cakes.

I love butter cake though. Not cake made with butter as the main ingredient. Butter cake for me refers to the icing topping of the cake made of butter. So instead of the white color foam icing, you actually see yellow color foam icing because it's all made of butter.

That's the cake i love most.

But then, it's so fattening and oily that nobody actually like those cakes. Only me.

So then, i prefer not to have cake for my birthday everyday.

Why the butter icing??

Because it tastes really very nice. Once you have it in your mouth, the aromatic butter just fills up your nostrils and numb your taste buds... yum yum..

Honestly, it's been ages since i last eaten one of those cakes.

Okay, forget about the whole cake thingy...

I got a few surprises this year.

I received presents which i did not expect from some friends.

It's not about the present itself. It's about what comes from the inside heart. The sincerity and the generosity.

I love you guys. Thank you.

Apart from that, i also received a lot of Birthday SMSs and also birthday wishes in the msn. I feel really grateful for everything and that i have such good friends.

THANK YOU.

The most surprising thing would be receiving a bouquet of flowers in the office when i'm working~!!!!

That was so awesome.

For a moment, i thought i had some admirer. LOL..

Kidding....

I heard someone spoke my name. When i raised my head, there was this guy i know, who owns a flourist shop, standing there with a bouquet in his hands, so i knew who sent it.

Honestly, my heart skipped a beat when i saw the flowers.

They are so BEAUTIFUL.

They smell so damn nice too. Only now, i realised flowers are so sweet smelling.

Really, they smell so sWEEeeeTTtttt.

It's a combination of Lilys,

and some yellow flower..i dunno what's the name of it.

It's really the utmost natural room air freshener.

Even roses don't smell as good. It's just so sweet smelling.

I love it.

Flowers.... they are just so nice, don't u agree?? LOL

Geez..they really smell very nice.

I'll update again for tonight's happy moments. kekek....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update : Photos. Photos.
Not really a lot coz i didn't bring my camera along. These are taken by my friends.
Me and Uncle Johnny. haha...
Too dark?? Okay, a brighter one. haha..
I don't remember who the hell ordered that drink. I think it was Brian~!!!
It was awlful~!!!
Sophia, Me, Uncle and David.
Once again, i received a bouquet of roses~!!!
That's from the most lovable Uncle Johnny. Oh...Uncle is so nice~ haha....
(Psst ... look at Uncle. He's flushing. )
This is me and Sophia.
You see Prince Jack behind there??
My colleagues were there too, but they were too camera shy.
This is Georgie and Fung Fung.
They purposely dun want to look at the camera.
And my bratha, Aa Lan.
Wow...even his sitting pose look so macho..
Mother's Day
Last Sunday, we booked a table for 6 at Boulevard Restaurant for our mother.
Mum was working and she suddenly called us up at Friday nite saying she's coming back for dinner on Mother's day.
I was having a few drinks with my colleagues at Sea hourse then.
My sister was in Kuching.
My 2 brothers did not know what to do about it so they called both me and my sister.
They called my sister first. She told them it's good that mum is coming back for dinner and that she has no objection to whatever arrangements they were gonna make.
With comments like that they still dunno what to do. Then they called me up to inform me of the situation. I told them to go to the Bouleavrd restaurant, coz it is the nearest from our house and told them to asked the person-in-charge if they have reservation for a table of 6. If they do, just take it.
Last year i tried to book a table on Mother's Day at Kok Chee Restaurant, and they told me they only have accept reservation of 10pax per table. They don't serve small table on special occasion.
My guess is that they will do the same this year, so didn't bother to ask my brother to check it out. Plus, it's already Friday, they might be fully booked.
My brothers did what i told them, and deposited a 100bucks for a reservation of $300 at Boulevard. Didn't even bother to listen to the explanation from the supervisors regarding the dishes they are going to serve coz it's not important. The most important thing is that we can bring mum out for a Mother's Day dinner.
So, there we are sitting at the table and talking jokes...
Waiting.....
The food was served very quickly. I guess that's what reservations are for, right?
First dish..
Longetivity vermicelli
These stuff are actually from and for Foo Chow family. Nowadays, you can see every chinese family having it everywhere. I grew up with a Foochow mother, so we are used to eat this soupy vermicelli.
Looks good.
Last time, i used to have this only once a year. That's during the chinese new year. Now, i eat this so often at Ni's place, it's at least once a month. Okay, so it's not that frequent, but that's a lot to me considering i only had it once each year. By the way, his mum cooks great chicken soup.
Too bad this one taste no where close to my mum's or Ni's mum.
The second dish is usually everyone's favourite.
Hot and Cold dish.
4 combinations.
Didn't taste good too.
I wonder why all these restaurant serve Siew Mai as one of the choices nowadays. It makes the whole thing so lame. They used to do it better.
Then there is this chicken with leaf wrapping thingy. It taste bad too. There's no favour in the chicken meat. They only wrapped the leaf around to make it LOOK special.
The jelly is ok. The other spring roll thing is also ok.
It's a real disappoinment. Honestly.
Then came the chicken cum chicken dish. Third dish.
Deept fried curry/paprika chicken and salad chicken.
The deep fried chicken actually taste and look so much like the leafy chicken. They are using the same stuff.... so disappointing.
As bad as it was, everyone finished it. LOL...
I guess everyone's too hungry.
See how happy my mum was with the arrangement....
Oh, sorry. She's still chewing the food....
Fourth Dish.
Something with broccoli. I actually took a few bites of the yellow mushy thing but i still couldn't figure out what it was. Something related to seafood??
4th dish is Shark Fin's soup.
I was supposed to take pictures too. I think i was too full and forgot to take pictures.
After the longetivity vermicelli, the arrangement shouldn't have soup anymore. 2 soup in a meal is too much. Even if it's shark fin.
I rather they change it to ABALONE instead. I would love that. It's my favourite.
Then, it was the cod fish.
Deep fried cod fish in soya onion sauce. Something like that. Not exactly good, i would say.
I didn't take anymore pictures. I had totally forgotten about pictures already.
The last one was the Oatmeal prawns.
Actually, it should be named Coconut-Santan Prawn. The entire dish tasted more like coconut than oatmeal. Disappointing as well.
There was not a single dish i would give a thumb-up.
So, that's the Mother's day dinner we had.
Mum's very happy about it. It's all that mattered.
A relationship
Isn't it wonderful when u have someone propose to you on a beautiful beach with such blink blink diamond ring????
Here's the romantic union of 2 people.
Correction. It's DIAMONDS ring.
Actually, without the beautiful beach is fine for me. LOL..
As long as there's perfect diamond ring for the occasion and there's a PROPOSAL.
Nowadays, people just get married when they think it's time to get married.
Then usually, there isn't gonna be any proposal coz the couple would just have conversation like this;
Case 1
Girlfriend : Honey, i think i'm getting old. All my friends are married.
Boyfriend : Do you think we should get married
Girlfriend : Ya, i think we should. It's about time.
Boyfriend : Okay.
Or
Boyfriend : Honey, how long have we been dating each other?
Girlfriend : It's been 5 years darling.
Boyfriend : Let's get married.
Or
Girlfriend :Sweetheart, i'm late for my period.
Boyfriend : ....
Girlfriend :Sweety, i think i'm pregnant.
Boyfriend : Then we should get married.
Or
Boyfriend : Baby, i wanna have my own kids..
Girlfriend : You want children?
Boyfriend : Ya. I think we should get married.
Girlfriend :Alright.
Sometimes, we can only envy those lucky girls out there who manage to get themselves such great, romantic, loving, understand, caring, outspoken lovers.
Once my friend said that those happy couple wedding photos are fake. Fake as in they pretend that they are happy. lol...
And that these photos actually trick you to get married.
They don't show you the life after marriage photos. They might be happy at the exact moment when they are married but it changes after that.
Husband works overtime and reach home late. The wife waits for the husband to reach home every night, alone in the house. Eventually, she will get fedup and they starts quarrel about the same topic often. Or, the wife herself is also working. Then, the house will be empty and everyone would be too tired to talk to each other and go to bed straight away.
After they got kids, husband and wife have to wake up late night to feed the baby. Husband don't wanna go home. The wife got lonelier. Then, the husband tries to find happiness outside. bla bla bla...
My friend talked so fast, he actually pictured the whole image in his head in 1 minute when we almost reached the 1U taxi stand when i was in kl.
Well, it depends on individuals i say.
My Ni grows up in the wood. Meaning to say, he's a piece of wood. A piece of wood (translate that into Cantonese) but i'm happy i've got him.
NO, HE DID NOT PROPOSE TO ME.
He treats me like a baby. A baby princess.
But sometimes, it's just not enough. Call me greedy or anything you like. I think a relationship needs some excitement and a few surprises to spice things up. When life itself is a routine, occasionally, we need to change the schedule for a while.
Anyway, i think every girl would love to get a proposal from their boyfriend instead of the "Let's get married, baby" thing.
And about diamonds
I don't mind if i can get a miniature model for this one. lol..
Isn't that the most HANDSOME thing on earth??
P.S.: Why is all my cute emoticons have black background??
La Pi >> Shar Wang
Very recently, my family has a new member.
Let me introduce.
Meet LA PI.
La Pi at 7 weeks old.
Isn't he a cute little fellow?
Actually, i haven't figured out a name for this little guy.
My dad wants to call him >> Chai Shen. God of Fortune. It sounded really hilarious and awkward so we decided not to call him that.
Imagine we are calling him : Chai Shen, lai. Come, god of fortune???
LOL...
For the time being, his name is La Pi. Pull Skin.
His dad is Shar Pi.
Ya, i know it's funny. But really, his dad's name is Shar Pi and he looks like his dad too.
La pi snores when he sleeps. It's actually quite loud.
He likes to playfully bite on anything. Shoes, pants, rags, slipper, your feet, your toes, your hands, your fingers, his tail ... ... anything he can lay his eyes on.
La Pi at 3 weeks old.
He looks so much older, don't u think?? ^_^
Dad likes to call him Old man.
When i first kidnapped him... When he first came to our house, he have 1 brother and 1 sister with him.
I brought 3 puppies back from Ni's house, just because they are so adorable that i wanted to keep them with me for a while.
After a week later, i gave the other 2 puppies away together coz their initial owner don't want them anymore. He just don't wanna come and get the puppies.
So i made the decision to give them away. Their new owner seems like a nice guy. I assume he's a dog lover too. He told me he have a golden retriever at home. I would like the think they are living well with their new owner.
As for La Pi, i just fell in love with him.
La Pi's first nite at our house. 3 weeks old.
My brother barricaded an area for them to move around. After a while, they all fell asleep in sitting position with their heads hanging onto the metal bar for support.
I had to take the photos in the dark without flash lights so they can continue sleeping in that position. lol...
La Pi at 3 weeks old
He was so small then. I can just carry him on one palm.
When the 3 of them were playing at the backyard, La Pi was always the slow one. Lagging behind. Couldn't find the direction. He would just make puppy whining cries to get someone help him cross the small drain at the backyard to get to the others.
He would just let them bit him, without biting back or pushing them away. He would just stand there and let his siblings bit him all over.
Sometimes, he would just sit there alone when his siblings were playing with each other.
La Pi at 5 weeks old.
He was too small for a proper dog strap so we chained him like that coz he just shit whenever he goes.
He looks very pity, right??
Well, don't get cheated by his deceitful face. lol...
Now he looks even more pitiful beside the dustbin.
It's nice to have a puppy around. He's like the baby of the family. Everyone takes turn to feed him. He eats at least 4 meals a day. Dog biscuits soaked in milk.
The biscuits are really really very tough to chew, plus, La Pi don't chew his food. He just swallow it whole, so i gotta let it soaks in the warm milk for it to soften everytime before i feed it to La Pi.
Last Wednesday, i brought him to Ni's house so that La Pi can play with other dogs.
La Pi 6 weeks old at Ni's house.
Looking pitiful again. He's so good at doing this.
I chained him at Ni's house coz he's too playful. Afraid he might wander out to the road side.
Most of the time, he just can't stop pestering others.
This is La Pi with Lily.
Lily
Breed: Rottweiler
Gender: Female
Age: 6 months
Lily is Ni's baby. He treats her so nice, he's treating her better than me. -_-
Lily was so excited to see La Pi.
In fact, she's the one who pestered La Pi all the time, until La Pi was so fedup, he hid under the car to avoid Lily.
At six months old, Lily is still considered a baby. It's just her size that's big.
Don't underestimate La Pi. Small as he is, he's so fierce to Lily that she actually retreat after he growled at her.
However, La Pi likes to pester Ginger.
Somehow, he likes to pester others who ignores him and ignores those who pester him. lol...
Ginger is my baby too.
Although she didn't grow up at my house or live with me, she's mine too.
When she was so small, i fed her everyday. Bathed her, blowed dry her, take her to the vet, plays with her, talks to her and even gave her a name.
She seems to know that, which is why i like her so much.
Back to La Pi.
My whole family believes that when he grows up one day, he'll be a very fierce dog.
Who knows?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

P.S.: The decision is made. The lucky little fella will be officially called La Pi. ^_^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
P.S.: My dad has second thoughts. After thinking for 2 week, he finally got the little fella a name he thinks best. SHAR WANG (an ex russian president or something long time ago, pronounced in chinese)
